The Translate dictionary

The Translate programs feature very large up-to-date dictionaries which contain everyday vocabulary as well as terms from many subject domains. (More about dictionary size ...)

The dictionaries are not only used for automatic translation but are excellently suited for consultation. This is particularly convenient using the program click & translate which comes with Translate plus and Translate pro. (Click on the image to enlarge it)

The word to be looked up is directly picked up from your text, and inflected forms are automatically reduced to the canonical forms of keywords in the dictionary. The word to be looked up can also be entered directly in the dictionary window.

The information on the words in the dictionary consists of part of speech, inflection, grammatical properties, generic terms, translation conditions, subject domains, and examples of usage.

To the right of the detailed dictionary entries you see the list of keywords in the neighborhood of the word looked up. You can select entries directly from the list by clicking on them.

You can also hide the list as you can see on the image (click on it to enlarge it).
