Product Activation

Before you will be able to use Translate, you will have to activate the product with the included product key.

Product key

Your individual license of Translate includes a product key. This key consists of 5 groups of 4 letters or numbers each separated with hyphens.
With the download editions (DLE and DLElean you initially receive only a preliminary product key which allows you to use the product for 30 days.

For Translate SE you find the individual product key on the product CD/DVD.
For DLE and DLElean, the preliminary product key is displayed in the installation program, besides this you can find it in the document Produktaktivierung.pdf in the installation directory. A link to this document is also added to the start menu entries of Translate.
The individual product key is sent to you along with invoice or receipt later.

Activation dialog

When you access a translate function for the first time, e.g. by translating text or looking up a word in the dictionary, the activation dialog pops up.

On the first page of this dialog, please enter your product key and click "Next".

On the next page you can enter your personal data. No information is required, all information you enter is treated confidentially. When you are finished please click "Activate".

Now, the activation module will try to do an online activation. If this is not successful, you can choose to activate manually, or to activate at a later time (at most 30 days).

Online activation

For online activation the program needs a HTTP connection like for normal web browsing.
If you are using a firewall or a router this type of connection may be blocked. Please allow web access (HTTP, TCP port 80) temporarily to be able to activate online.

Activate later

If you entered a preliminary product key or if the activation server could not be reached, you can delay the final activation for at most 30 days. Please choose "Activate later" on the page of the activation dialog which appears after clicking "Activate".

As long as the activation has not been finished for unlimited time, this page of the activation dialog will be shown whenever you access a Translate function for the first time after starting the program. In order to finish activation, please click "Back" two times and enter the final product key on the first page of the activatin dialog.

Manual activation

With an individual product key you can also activate manually. In this case the activation module generates an activation letter and a registration key.

You have two options:

Send the activation letter to the support departement at digital publishing AG, <support@digitalpublishing.de>, for further contact options see digital publishing's web site.
Use the activation web form http://www.digitalpublishing.de/actv.

In both cases you get an activation key which you have to enter on the next page of the activation dialog after the one that is shown to you as long as the activation process is not finished.

Number of allowed activations exceeded

In case that you need to re-install your computer or want to move Translate from one computer to another one, you can activate the product for three times. After the third time you will get a message saying that the number of allowed activations has been exceeded when you try to activate the product.

In this case the activation process has to be reset for you. This can only be done by the digital publishing support department, <support@digitalpublishing.de>.
