Showing alternative translations

In the field 'Show alternative translations' you can choose for your next translation request whether the translation system should inform you about alternative translations of individual words. You can select different levels, which lead to few alternative translations (beginning with nouns) up to alternative translations of all classes of words for which alternative translations are available (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions).

This type of choice during translation is an absolute novelty for free-of-charge translation services and we are very proud to be able to offer this individual comfort to you.

Requests occurring in parallel

Ponstranslate uses the same software which is also the basis of our Translate product family. But the conditions for a translation system on the web are slightly different from those for an offline or intranet product at work or at home.

Due to the number of requests submitted in parallel and because translation needs a complex analysis of texts, the length of the texts which you can submit must be limited to approximately 2000 characters. This equals roughly 250 to 300 words or 10 to 30 sentences of usual length.
If you want to translate longer texts, you will have to partition them accordingly.
During times when the service is very busy, it may take slightly longer than you would have expected for the translation to be displayed.

Please understand that even in the future we cannot offer through this web service all the translation options and quality features of our products.
